How to Bet on Horse Racing: Understanding Draw Bias
Peter Webb explains what the draw bias is in horse racing. This video is linked to another video that uses it in a race: –
The draw bias is well known in Horse Racing, but if you are using the software from a non-racing background you may not be aware of it.
When you race on a circular or oval circuit, such as in athletics, the start is staggered to make sure no one runner gets an advantage.
You don’t get staggered starts in horse racing markets, so that introduces a ‘draw bias’ into racing, depending on the course and the stall draw that each horse has.
This video explores the draw bias and explains it by looking at two very different flat courses.
