William Morgan, educated at Radley and Cambridge, amateur jockey for 30 years, manager Limestone Stud for 20 years, Jockey Club steward for 10 years, Trustee of European Breeders Fund, council member of Thoroughbred Breeders Association, writer for various breeding publications, member of the Race-Planning committee 2002 -2009, committee member Carlise racecourse and still found time to have written four huge volumes on long gone racecourses, ‘Strongholds Of Satan’ 1032 and 1016 A4 sized pages the two that have been published and another at the printers.
Part 1 William talks about when he decided to write these massive tomes, how many racecourses feature in them, why they are called ‘Strongholds of Satan’ and relates some of the best gambling stories from them.
