Neil Phillips aka ‘The Wine Tipster’ – https://www.thewinetipster.co.uk/ – has combined life-long passions to carve out a unique career encompassing presenting as a racing pundit and is the tipster and sommelier for The Jockey Club and Jockey Club Catering. He’s also a partner in My Racing Manager , and ambassador for UK Prosecco DOC and Racing Welfare and columnist for Unibet.
In Part One, Neil talks about his passion for horse racing from a very early age, creating his own horse races with toys, his unfulfilled ambition to emulate Peter O’Sullevan, getting some lucky breaks during his career path, the pressure of writing a tipping column, his own personal punting, the importance of the pre-parade ring. He elaborates on how he enjoys the challenge of tipping horses for the biggest meetings and how he deals with the pressure of advising people to back horses on a bookmaker’s website.
