The Grand National is the one race of the year that people have a bet and bookmakers know it. So the odds they offer are some of the worse you will see over the course of the year.
You give a traditional bookmaker about 1/3 of your stake each time you place at the bookmaker.
It’s up to you if you want to do that, but the industry is culpable of deliberately not offering you better odds when they are available.
I realise this is just a bit of fun for most people but with a little thought, you can vastly improve the returns on your bet by placing it online and preferably with a betting exchange.
